A quirky design !

I don't buy many watches, maybe one every 2 or 3 years, I don't possess expensive watches because I don't like them ( can't afford them lol ).

I mainly buy watches (9.999 out of 10.000) with my eyes, be it on the www or in a shopping window.
But in the end I sometimes get carried away like two days ago, could be one day as well because I completely lost track of time this week.

I always wanted to buy a quartz watch and was thinking about the Seiko Arnie SNJ025 or a Grand Seiko GMT. The main problem with these watches are:
1. The Arnie: Again a Seiko ... pfff.
2. The GS: hmmm, spending a few thousands on a watch ... I'll wait until I inherit my parents money (may they live very long and prosper) .. ;-)

So while I was stuck at Dubai Airport a few days , or day .. can't and don't want to really remember, in order not to kill myself because of boredom and anxiety I strolled the watch stores .
After admiring the Fifty Fathoms for the 25th time I realized they were kind out of my budget and moved on to the Seiko's ... not much to see there. The Grand Seiko section was okay , but nothing really special to see.

And suddenly I saw it ! That damn green Citizen that has been in my head for several months now. I had never really seen it in the flesh and when the  very nicesales person took it out of the tray I immediately fell in love!
What more could I desire for ? Finally a quartz, eco-drive (Solar Dial) and it's a diver .. and it looks quirky as hell ! Hell yeah !

Since I was wearing my Emperor I could make an immediate comparison and it dawned on me this Citizen I a perfect addition to my very humble collection !
Both watches have a titanium case, base Ti for the Citizen as mentioned on the back.

So here is the Citizen Promaster (don't know the reference).

Striking resemblance smile

Full gear !

Okay guys, I'll go back to work now.
Have a great weekend !

...not expensive and you can beat the hell out of them. What's not to like?

Thanks Aperna ! I wanted a solar and after considering for many many years I finally bought one. I'm such an idiot ... always delaying watch buys and then buying other stuff, mainly for my wife or especially my daughter

So true !

I bought this one above retail, a bit. The green one is pretty hard to find, but there is still the blue one that looks pretty nice and that one I can buy very cheap ... hmmmm

Those are great fun

I almost got the gray model with the gold hands and indices (BN0220-16E) a while back, I love the industrial and purpose driven design!

A few versions.

The green one apparently was sold out pretty quick. I had the grey, the blue and the whale shark blue in my hands and wasn't convinced. Very cool watches nonetheless. When the salesperson handed me the green one I was sold instantly, I payed over retail, ...
